House Leader Needed!

We are looking for a compassionate listener and problem solver to serve as a role model to peers in recovery from substance use.

If you have at least one year of continuous sobriety, a personal connection to recovery, and a genuine desire to see others heal, you might just be the person to keep the house running smoothly, create a safe & supportive environment, and help residents find their rhythm in life again.


We’re offering free housing, utilities, internet, and on-site laundry in a beautiful home in Greenbrier (Chesapeake, VA). Our home is built on compassion, structure, and growth for women recovering from substance use disorder.
 

This is a live-in position. Duties are performed while living at the facility. This position is ideal for someone who attends college courses or would like to get a part-time job on the side.

  • Oversee daily operations and maintain a calm, structured atmosphere in the home.

  • Enforce house guidelines (e.g., curfew, cleanliness) and model healthy communication and conflict resolution.

  • Conduct drug and breathalyzer testing at admission and at random for accountability.

  • Conduct weekly house meetings.

  • Manage administrative tasks (e.g., track attendance, update files, and handle basic reports).

  • Support residents’ mental health and recovery through encouragement, accountability, and consistency.

  • Collaborate with leadership to uphold program standards and ensure safety.

  • Assist with the intake process for new members.

  • Expected Hours: 20-25 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Be at least 21 years of age.

  • Must be willing to live on-site at the sober living home.

  • Minimum one year of sobriety (free from all drugs and alcohol, including THC (even with a medical card)) and active engagement in recovery.

  • Pass initial and random drug and breathalyzer tests.

  • Experience or genuine interest in the mental health and behavioral health field.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Organized, reliable, and grounded in empathy.

  • A true team player with the humility to listen and the strength to lead.

  • Willingness to serve as a House Leader for at least 6 months.

  • $100 bonus after successfully completing your first 90 days as a House Leader.
